July 4/13 - Dorvalhigh 73 Reunion, all years welcome

Well, it's on! It's happening! The Dorval High School, Class of 1973 is having its 40th Anniversary Reunion, this Labour Day weekend (Aug 30-Sep 1), in Dorval (Montreal). Please don't spend the rest of your life thinking, "Maybe I should have gone." The 40th Anniversary is only going to come around once. It will be a full weekend of events. Come to all, come to just one, but come!

Jun 25/10 - Memorial for Mr. Jack Benoit, John XXIII teacher

Mr. Jack Benoit, former teacher in the 60's & 70's at John XXIII passed away on June 21st, 2010 from lung cancer. Memorial will be held on June 26th/2010 at Rideau Funeral Home on Sources Blvd. in DDO. Call 514-685-3344 for more info.

Jul 07/08 - Added St. Stephens High

St. Stephen's High School was in a two storey old building one street east of Dorval avenue, in the Baldwin Cartier board. They had their thirty-first reunion July 7, 1990. The school was filled with mice so they transferred over to St. Veronicas. Teachers were Mr.Boulienne, Mr.Breier, Mrs.Den Dikkenboer, Mr.Dore, Mr.Henchey, Mr.Lawlor, Miss Mccaigm, Mrs.Pearson, Mr.Smith, Mr.Tagney. Thanks to Rosemary for the information.

May 02/08 - Memorial submission corrected

There was a problem with the memorial page submitting information to be posted that has been corrected. Thanks to Jim Dunn for pointing this out. It has been broken for a while so if you previously tried to provide some information and do not see it posted yet, please submit it again.

Jan 01/08 - Yet another new bulletin board

Well the idiot hackers have won again, so I've put up yet another bbs with even more authentication to keep out the crud makers. So now new registrants are only accepted when I validate them, I get email notification and activate the account login for you. Believe it or not I get 20-30 bogus new registrations a day already! So if you register and don't get authorization in a day or two please email me to let me know.

Mar 18/07 - Children birthdates and new phone field on entry form

You can now record your phone number on the entry form. The purpose of this field is to provide a contact number for reunion organizers, it is not exposed anywhere on the site. I will be adding checkboxes later on where you can control what is displayed or not on the bio page.

You may also optionally record childrens birthdates next to their names and the system will dynamically recalculate the ages for you daily. This is definitely easier than trying to remember to update each year.

Jan 13/07 - How to use this site to help plan a reunion

The entry form has two new checkbox fields, one to indicate who plans to attend the reunion, the other to indicate the classmate is missing or at least not registered on this site. Those organizing the reunion should make entries for the missing classmates and mark them as missing. To confirm your plans to attend use the entry form to check the "I will attend" box.

On the listing page click the Hide Comments and scroll down to your year. The 'All' column will show Reunion or Missing if either is checked so you will have a decent list of who plans to attend, does not plan to attend or is missing. A current list of email addresses for the organizers is available on demand, either on the outlook To: line or with full information in Excel as a private url.

Last but not least use the bulletin board for communications. We can create a forum specifically for the reunion if desired.

Sep 17/05 - Pictures from the Courtland Park 50th Anniversary are available on the Courtland Park page. We also found the official link from the school board and have posted it there.

A note about the Last Updated date on the left column of this page - this date reflects the last time a change occurs to any of the text above the list of names or formatting in general. People update their bios fairly regularly so that content is changing pretty much daily. You can reduce the list of names to those updated in the past month by clicking the Current Entries button. It could be a simple change to email address or kids ages, any change at all puts the name on the updated list.

Anybody have anything interesting to post here? I'm more than happy to highlight in this section. We still average more than 1000 hits a day!

Oct 24/04 - A new bulletin board to eventually replace the basic message board originally provided here. This will allow us to create groups to separate schools, create topic areas and generally add as much or little categorization as people would like. You have the option of creating a login id or just acting as a guest. A login allows for personalization and other little perks. Enjoy!

A reunion summary of the 75/76 event is now available. This outlines the costs, quantites, thoughts and experiences from this event in order to help other years with their planning. Plus, it'll be really handy a few years from now when we try repeat the process ;)

You can now upload pictures from the entry form page. The Upload Picture link will be active only if you access the page from the Edit link beside your name AND you have a password. Sorry to make it so awkward, but but the fun people from Brazil and Seychelles seem to enjoy picking away at the site looking for holes. You can always email the photos to us but we like the upload better because it will associate the photo with your record on the site. Photos are handled manually from there so that they are screened for content, resized if necessary and placed appropriately for display.

The order in which people are listed has been changed slightly. If you included a maiden name that will be listed first and the new last name will be in parenthesis. You can always search using the Find option of your browser but this should be more convenient when scrolling.

Jan 13/07 - Class of '72 Re-Union (and other connected parties)

Many of you know Barry Sydenham and I(Doug Kennedy) have started the ball rolling for a class reunion. The date has been confirmed as Labour Day weekend 2007 with festivities taking place on Friday August 31st and Saturday September the 1st - Saturday night being a dinner tentatively. We are securing a hall and are now in a bit of a hurry to locate some of our classmates. Once we locate as many people as possible we will be able to send out some more formal details.

If you have any information that would help us out that would be greatly appreciated. Maybe you still keep in touch with someone? Maybe you know where they live or an email address? Maybe you know a family member of theirs that can assist in providing contact details? Anything might help.

If it looks like we missed anyone or you know of someone closely affiliated to our class (John XXIII) or others that should be included as well, feel free to let us know that too!

Courtland Park is having a 50th Anniversary Reunion on Saturday September 17, 2005 from 10:00-2:00. Everyone is welcome and many teachers will be attending. Please pass it on!

  Dorval High School History

While preparing the lastest round of modfications for additional schools I received some information from Mary Abbott about the metamorphosis of DHS after 1976.  Apparently from 1980 through 1986 the english students from John XXIII moved to DHS and John XXIII became Jean XXIII.  In 1986 JXXIII/DHS closed and students were transferred to St. Thomas in Pointe Claire for the 86/87 year.  DHS then housed a french school (ESD - Ecole Secondaire Dorval) and became the DHS we remember historically at some later, date unknown.

Got a math degree straight out then went out west and traveling for 10 years.. then back to school for electronics eng at UofA.. I still go back and lean on a post on the W. entrance to surry gardens and remember playing there as a kid .. just wow..

It was by sheer accident that I Googled DVH School and was competely taken a back by the names and memories. I immediately dug out my old year book (funny how we keep these things for all these years) The Memorial page on this site was heartfelt and a setback. I currently live with Victoria, my partner for 27 years, in a small coastal town on the east side of Vancouver Island, Chemainus, to be exact. I have lived all over Canada, from the Queen Charlotte Islands, to Newfoundland, to the 76' Olympics working as a photogragher. In 1979, I changed professions, and in 1988 got my degree in Horticulture Sciences (Turfgraas Sciences, U of Guelph )and in 1992 became a certified Master Gardener. In 2005 again changed professions and became a cerified Music Therapist and a certified Horticulture Therapist. In 2006, at the age of 56, I again dropped out and changed professions and now, with a group of 50' something musicians, have formed a group, the Flying Accusations (www.flyingaccusations.com) and are preparing to tour "The World" We have all realized that life is just too damn short. So, that is me. Chemainus has a world class live theatre (Shaw of the West) and my wife, Victoria (from Ottawa)is the Props Co ordinater (Head Prop Chick) and, if I may say so, is very happy and good at what she does. (Depends on what show is on, depends on her happy meter) My two, wonderful girls have finally figured out (Ihope) what life is all about and are finding their own "magic voice" in life, and between my two grandchildren "boys", (and I can relate cause I was just like them when I was young) and my beautiful senior friends (I don't call the clients), they all keep me young! I hope that that is true with you too. I read everybodies LITTLE statement about themselves and would love to hear more about their lives. When I read the little that people had written, I noticed a number people lived in competely different communities in completely diferent countries. We all have the same Dorval roots and when I look at the year book, I say to myself, I WONDER WHAT THEY ARE DOING NOW! How many of you are over 50!!!!!! That's 30 years of life since you have left High school - and I am curious!

My mother was Mrs. Georgia Netanis McLellan and taught at Courtland Park, from 1963 to 1966 as a substitute teacher and then full-time for some years. She later got her Ph.D. We lived at 59 Stream Avenue, later renamed as 1845 Carson Avenue.

Just moved to a condo in Etobicoke. The nest is empty with identical sons Mike and Drew running away to universities on the opposite side of the province from each other - but absolutely loving school. Hubby David passed away in March from brain cancer originating from skin cancer about 4 years ago. I am trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up now. Cheers to you all!

Still in the Montreal area, living on Windmill Point on Ile Perrot. The brothers are all still living around Montreal except for Lynn who`s in Tampa, Fla. I started my own busness in 1997-Organic Alternatives for Golf Courses- and am Coaching Hockey and Soccer...Run into lots of DHS veterans (Robbie Fee) at the arenas and Soccer fields. Darren Quenneville was one of my assistant coaches as well as Glenn Carpenter. Saw Darren's brother Chuck this year as well. For those of you who remember Bill Talstrom, he looked up Moxy and I this winter(2006/07) when he was in town visiting his sister. Good times and lots of stories. He is coming back this summer. I still play hockey at the Dorval Arena with the Curry brothers in the league Mike Piers started 30 odd years ago. Hey Percy, you should make a Cameo appearance one of these days. Left Dorval in '77 after my grad from Concordia (BComm) to fly for Her Majesty ("there's no life like it" - ha!). By 1980 I was in Kelowna BC selling real estate (fell in love with the Okanagan Valley back in the summers of '72, '73 & '74 when I exported cars there from Mtl - what a party those days were!). Articled '83-'86 in Vancouver and got my C.A. which led to a great run as a stock broker '86-'97 (Broker of the Year '94). Living & loving in Vancouver ever since. Life is good - the new crop of kids is keeping me young! Semi-retired after years in the venture capital arena, but always involved in mainly resource sector deals. Congrats to those who took the initiative for this site. As we all look back at our (mis)spend youth it's comforting to see lots of company! Aug. 3, 2009 - I was talking to Kevin Weary tonite and he told me that there had been a reunion a couple of years ago for the Class of '72. He said that there was a web site, and whaddya know.... I found it! Technically, I was supposed to be the Class of '71, but I liked hanging around playing floor hockey so much, and was such a crappy student, that I didn't get my "Certificate of Graduation" until 1972. But I didn't attend the graduation exercise and I'm not even sure if I made it into the yearbook. I hung around the West Island and worked in the motorcycle and towing businesses (hi Derek!) until the Winter of 1981. Upon returning from a month in Cuba where I had taken a motocross team to compete that November, I landed back in Dorval in a snowstorm and -40F weather. Only to find out that in my absence, and without asking my opinion, the Government of Quebec had decided to dramatically raise taxes on gas, booze, and cigarettes. To which I said "screw this," and flew to San Francisco to visit my recently widowed/remarried/relocated/retired father for an early Christmas. I never left California after my X-mas vacation ended, because while I was living in SF, my new stepmother introduced me to some friends of hers who had a small business selling Harley parts, where I had a wildly successful career over the next 23 years helping to grow that company to almost 300 million a year in sales while living in the San Jose area for all of that time. Along the way, I had a beautiful daughter in 1988 with my girlfriend (who I finally married in 1996 and divorced in 2000). After the divorce, I stepped back from my responsibilities with the company, and relocated to the Lake Tahoe area from where I could telecommute, while my ex-wife and daughter moved to Dallas. In September of 2006, I remarried the beautiful and incredibly intelligent Amy (another Canadian citizen who relocated here with her parents from Ontario when she was an infant), and so I now have two stepchildren, Preston aged 18 and Elena aged 15, in addition to Devin. I had a blast looking at the reunion site, and am incredibly sorry that I didn't hear about the event before now.... I would most certainly have attended. I stay in touch with and have contact information for some of the missing DHS alums, so be sure to let me know before the 40th and I'll put them in touch with you. Stay well everyone!!

Hi Everyone, I'm glad to be found! I've been in Victoria BC since 1982 and have been working in nursing for many years. Now I work for the BC government in health care policy, and have 2 great kids, Ben and Beth and a wonderful spouse, Lee. I'll be in Montreal Aug. 3-10 staying at the Queen E, giving my daughter a chance to try out her French in a foreign land! I can't make the reunion, darn, but would be happy to hear from anyone in future who may be visiting Victoria. Cheers!

Went to UNB in Fredericton, graduated in 76 and moved to Toronto. Worked 2 years for Cadillac Fairview,got married and moved to Eastern Townships for the next three years. Moved to Bathurst, New Brunswick in July 1981 and still enjoying teaching, golf, cross country skiing, walking the beach, and small town life there. Still see my family a few times a year in Montreal and the Laurentians but have only managed to keep in touch with a couple of DHS friends with Christmas cards. Have been getting together annually with sisters and mother (who taught at DHS and is now 91 and still going strong) in Bahamas at March Break for many years for a break from teaching, cheering kids' and husband's sports teams on, and cold Canadian winters. Will try to make the 72 reunion and looking forward to it.

Went to McGill. Married Wendy Beraha in 1980. Ordained as an Anglican minister in May 1983. Taught in Kenya from 1987-1989. Did doctoral work in Toronto and moved to Pittsburgh in 1998 to teach at Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry. Oldest child David will return to Montreal to study Engineering at McGill this September. Lived/worked in the high arctic for 25 years, first in government admin., then as an outpost RN in various communities in Nunavut and the NWT. I worked for Air Canada 1974-99, played some semi-pro baseball in 1976 in Toronto, attended Concordia U part-time, graduating in 1992, followed up with law school at Western in 1992 at the ripe old age of 38, and sold real estate for Sutton from 2001-2006. Now own my own brokerage firm in downtown Montreal. Retired from AC in 1999. Married 1978, divorced 1984, and remarried 1995. Used to run into Don Mergny at Dorval airport on occasion, and recently corresponded with Gord Rabchuk and Bruce Woolley. Looking forward to seeing everybody at the reunion!

When most of you guys left after high school. I held out here and went to John Abbott. After that I worked in the Restaurant business for many years. Did training and management. Served a super customer from Mississauga one night and ended up marrying him. He has been serving me my morning coffee for 28 years. I taught computers to elementary kids for 9 years and am now working as a support staff in a Vocational Beauty School. I love it and hey, I get my hair done on the job!! We own a beautiful cottage just outside of Brockville on a little lake called Graham lake. Needless to say my great big lab lives in the water. If you visit the West Island or Mallorytown, and wanna catch up, contact me.; It's January15th,2007and I thoughtI would add a little news to this blog.Last Marc,I was hit with a devastrating stroke that left me paralyzed on my kleft side.The Docs are baffled as to why I got it.I was in super health and training for a marathon.They said it was random.So I am fighting my way back,one day at a time.It should be interesting how far I get by reunion time.Wish me luck!

Just found the site courtesy of Syd and Doug's efforts to organize the 35th anniversary reunion. Great stuff and thanx to the webmaster! Been working in IT in Toronto since summer of '76 with Bell, CIBC and now Ontario Government. Happily divorced once each decade (80's, 90's and 00's). Still playing ball in the summer and hockey in the winter and enjoying my vacation property (Beach House) and golfing on the ocean in Oak Island North Carolina at least 4 or 5 times a year. Haven't been back to Montreal much since I left Bell in 2000, so I'm looking forward to a great week-end sharing life experiences with all who can make it. After DHS, I attended John Abbott College and Concordia University, becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) in 1980. I worked as an Audit Director at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada in Ottawa from 1982 until I retired in 2014. I remarried in 2006 to a wonderful woman who gave me a gift of three step-children. We live in Cantley, on the Quebec side of the river. Now a proud Grandad to four grandchildren.

How great to read all these blasts from the past! I stayed on the West Island until 1976...did 2 years at John Abbott in Graphic/Fine Arts and continued singing (Hey hey for the Johnny Stugg Band!).; Took a train to the West Coast in '76; got married a Pointe Claire guy in 1978, then divorced in 1988. Meanwhile got my Journalism Degree and worked in that field for almost 20 years. Found true love on the Sunshine Coast in 1989. He's a high school math teacher from Trail, BC. Honeymoon was a 6-month trip through South America. Owned a B&B on the Sunshine Coast, moved to Novas Scotia for 5 years (where my family ended up) then did a three month trip back across Canada in 1998. We live on a lake on southern Vancouver Island (40 minutes north of Victoria). I'm a full time artist (www.studio1771.com) and arts administrator. Sure will try to make it to the reunion!

Wow, what a great walk down Memory Lane. I'm still in touch with a few friends from the Class of 73 and would love to hear from others. Ian & Bev, Hiedi & Rob, Debbie F, Frances C, Susan M, Bob C, Stephen B, Janet L, Kim R, Joan S, Debbie G, and all the rest of the gang - you were the Best of 73. Post Dorval, I travelled for 18 months and eventually settled in Ontario. Studies in Kingston, Guelph and Waterloo proved beneficial and I've had a great career researching a variety of environmental issues. Photography, historical research and sailing have filled the years which have just flown by. Moved west to Vancouver Island in 2002 but hope to return to Ontario in 2011. Been quite a ride! Rock & rolled thru the 70's, twice living in Toronto. Followed gf to Vancouver 1980 (BIG mistake)- lived virtually destitute there for 2 yrs...but the experience pushed my photography into a fantastic direction. Twice married/divorced over a 20 yr period. Moved to Oxford (UK) in '86, formed a band with Clapton's nephew for a while, and my photography is finally...hot! Still playing the music scene as well, there's so much more opportunity for it over here. I also write a lot of magazine articles. Say hello if you're ever this way...but I'm not in the book. Just ask at most of the art colleges, they'll give you my contact details. Click on the word "All" beside my name and it brings up my profile and a very bad photo of me in grade 9 (home room that year was the Chemistry lab) - it's not my grad photo - that one was even worse! I get back to Dorval from time to time. Dorval seems so much smaller than when I was living there, but no one walks about anymore; everyone seems to drive to go even the shortest distance...good grief. Graduated July (2012) with a Masters degree (photography) and am working on my master plan to retire back in Canada, tho I might just move to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset here to live out my days? My first book, "In My Time...30 Years of Social Documentary Photography"(usually referred to as "street photography" was published the summer of 2011.

Still in Cambridge, Ontario after moving here in 1984. Rodney and I are divorced, but he is still in town too, remarried to Karen. Our oldest son, Matt now lives in New Westminster, BC and our younger son, Tom is still here in Cambridge. I am a self employed bookkeeper, and whenever possible, my favourite place to get away is back to the West Island, to Judy (Grindley)and Bernie Brown's house; they are the best hosts ever! We try to plan my visits to be when "Big Fun" is playing somewhere! These former members of 10pm Paris, are back and better than ever(along with a couple of new members); Fred Grindley (Eric Clapton's real long lost cousin!), his wife, the incredible Norene (who can sing anybody better than they can themselves!) Keith Ferguson, Gord Bird and a couple of other fellows on drums and keyboards whose names I don't know. And they are awesome! Just spent Saturday, Aug. 8th at Neil Sellers' summer beach party where Big Fun played. It was a great night and I saw so many people I hadn't seen in so many years: Malcolm Lummis(who I was happy to see hasn't changed a bit, and, he's still 6'7"!)who came with his wonderful wife, Leanne, Kathy O'Brien and Jim Wilson, Mary Lynn Clamen, Nancy Hawker, Glen Sellers (who designed Neil's beautiful house!)and his wife, Glenna, their younger sister Lynn, a few Curries, Gail and Al Cheverton, and more! It was a great night and I think we all hope Neil continues to do this every summer! Ralph Bard, this site is great and we appreciate the effort you put into keeping it going! I hadn't been here in a while, but every time I visit, there are more people listed and profiles added!

It's always fun scrolling through all the familiar names, from way back when. I now live in Surrey B.C. with my wonderful wife Hanna we have been married for 9 great years. After DHS following a fun filled year at John Abbott I changed direction and got into aircraft maintenance this led to a 31 year stint with Air Canada from which I retired in December 2009 after 31 years. I now work for the British Columbia Institute of Technology running the aviation program. Life is good! Would love to hear from any of the gang!

Been living in Ottawa for almost 20 years. (Damn! Are we really that old?!?!?!?!)
After working for the Federal government for 28 years (the last 27 in the Library and Archives), I fell on my sword, along with a number of others my age and volunteered to be laid off (and bought out) so that the "kids" wouldn't have to compete for their jobs. I converted the layoff into an early retirement, so now I can be lazy at home instead of at my office. 8-)
I've written an electronic book and I have self-published it on Amazon for the Kindle, though it's readable with just about any device except Kobo and Nook readers. The title is And What of Earth, and it's aimed at geeky female high school and college students. I've started a blog about the book and the subsequent installments of the series at http://www.thewarriorqueen.net/ . There, people can read an excerpt from the first chapter and post comments and read more about the characters and what will be coming up in subsequent stories.
Amazon will be offering a free download of the novel between March 16th and March 20th, 2013. This will be the only time it will be free -- come April, my exclusivity clause with Amazon ends, and the novel will be available on Smashwords, and, hopefully, Chapters/Indigo, for Kobos and Nooks.

Many thanks to the creators and maintainers of this site. It's great! Now.. to condense the last 30 some odd years. The day after my last exam in high school I started an eight-year long "summer job" at Lachine General Hospital. In 1980 I met Raymond while vacationing in Maine. In 1982 we married and I moved down to Maine. I thought it would be nice to live near the ocean year round. The water is only a little bit colder in January than in July and of course the lobsters are always great! We have two wonderful sons, J1 and J2. Would be so nice to hear from some of my old friends from Dorval.

I travel 8 months of the year wherever our fleet of ships may be. Current projects include producing and engineering original dance music with my life-partner DJ Herbicide (Herbie James) Based in sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, I miss the culture and joi de vivre of Montreal. I don't miss the snow! It's great to see all the faces... and so many of the grad photos that I took while terrorizing you all with my camera in '74 August 2005 - Started at Celebrity Cruise Line in May, working full time from the Miami office. I am managing the Cirque du Soleil partnership between the two companies. We have two ships with "The Bar at the Edge of the Earth" designed and staffed by Cirque. So that puts me back in Montreal for meetings several times a year. It's great to be back at least so far... it's only been in the summer....I haven't experienced winter in more than 14 years! 2011: Celebrity Cruises, Miami, Florida- Manager Entertainment Technology. Loving life in South Florida!

Heard of this site when I called Brenda Chopp out of the blue to wish her a happy 50th. Great to read what folks are up to. Am living in Vancouver after lots of stops en route. Little kids will keep me planted for a while. Working in finance in biotech. After DHS it was Marianopolis then Queens for Biology, then Western for MBA then Calgary for 8 yrs with Chevron, then UK for a couple of years in recruitment, then to Vancouver as ship agent etc, then started a biotech at UBC, again to the UK for spell, then back to Vancouver for a new biotech. Married to Kathleen Hachey in 2005 legitamizing the kids, then twin boys came along last year!, so a nut house. Get through Montreal periodically and try for quick tour of Dorval to see old haunts. We had a good time in the 'old' days, a great community of people. Hope my kids have as good teachers as we had (that's why we are so smart!).

Have lived in Cambridge Ontario since 1984. Bryan originates from here. I met him while I was at McGill and he was at Concordia. We both played Varsity hockey and met through mutual friends. Married in 1981, had Christine in 1985, Michelle in 1989. I have been teaching with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board for almost 20 years, 9 years as a Core French teacher and the last 11 years teaching grades 1 and 2. I love it!!! For those of you who know me... both girls play and love soccer!!!!! Christine attends U of Waterloo and is studying to be a teacher at the high school level in an all French school. (We have one French High School here, population about 300 kids from grades 7 to 12) Michelle is enjoying grade 10, playing basketball, volleyball, soccer, and is a member of the "Dance Crew". We work in a town on Vancouver Island called Campbell River, and we both live on Quadra Island (about a 10 minute boat ride away). Hello to all. Left Dorval in 1973 with my parents (would have graduated Dorval High in '77) Actually graduated from James M. Hill Memorial in Miramichi (at that time known as Chatham) Lived in the Toronto area briefly in 1980-1981, then returned to be with my family in the Miramichi. Married my high school sweety, in 1980 and we have one son. Great to see alot of familar names that bring back memories from my Dorval days. Lived on Clement Street back then. What a fantastic site this is! I'm really glad to have found it. Well, after leaving Dorval in '78, I lived in North Vancouver, graduated (finally) from UBC, and started my teaching career in the only school I've ever worked in - Southern Okanagan Secondary in Oliver, B.C. I married a great woman I met at work, and we are fortunate to have two healthy children. I returned to Dorval and saw the old school in 2001, and it made me very homesick. So many memories - but middle age has a habit of making a person nostalgic. I'd love to hear from the old gang (or anyone, for that matter) and catch up on old times. Take care.

Hello All, Been looking at this site for some time now and figured "what the hey, Might as well register my own name! Let's see, what have I been doing since DHS!!! Working at Stelfil in Lachine, (Mother company is Stelco & not doing to well now) since 79 to present. Met Judy (& her 2 children) again (First time I met her was in DHS) 16 years ago and then got married and we had our third child Kathleen. Besides working full time at Stelfil, I started up my own company 5 years ago, "Les Remplissages Inkspot Refills" recycling printer cartridges. Judy works full time with the Ink and I get to work partime with it and get to pretend that I am my own Boss!! Well, I hope to hear from the Class of 79! Cheers!!

I have lived in the West Island forever (in fact I will be the last English person living in Quebec - I have to be - the PQ have hired me to trun out the lights once everyone is gone). I started an advertising agency in the basement of my Mom's Malcolm Circle house (where she still lives) in 1982. I did all of the advertising for Tommy Hilfiger, Budget Rent A Car, Monsieur Felix & Mr. Norton etc. etc. I won the wife lottery in 1994 (Kathy Holland - John Rennie grad) and live at 7 Cambridge in Baie D'Urfe - stop in if you're in the neighbourhood. In 2002 I sold my agency to a big agency in Toronto. I 'semi-retired' in 2003 to practise golf - one day I'll be as good as Andrew Carter's son - my handicap's down to 6. Kathy and I have 2 beautiful Golden Retreivers: Emerson 8, and Ruby 6. I have just dealt with 'Thyroid Cancer' - the 'best kind of cancer to have' and am back to 99.9% - they kept the actual thyroid gland...... I drink too much, stay up too late, chase too many women with loose morals - (some things never change).

Hi All, After leaving Dorval in 1978, I completed high school in Calgary, went on to Uni and got a Degree in Electrical Engineering. Travelled the world in the search for Oil and Gas then when in Europe fell in love with an Australian lady, we got married, lived in Calgary for 7 years, have 2 kids, got fed up with the cold and now are living in Australia, where we have been living since 1997. I've just compelted a Master Degree of Business & Techncology at the University of Sydney - Who would think I would be a studious one? Great to see all the people signing up on the web site, as they must look back very fondly on the days growing up in Dorval as I do. Hello out there! A quick update on the last 30 years of my life. Has it been 30 years? Wow. completed a B.Sc. from McGill in '89, M.Sc. from University of Ottawa in '96. Both in biology. Worked as wildlife biology consultant for several years before beginning an 8 year career with the federal government. Worked for several departments before starting my own consulting company in 2004 (www.lotic.ca). I now live near Ottawa, continuing to consult locally and internationally. Not married and I have no kids. Hopefully we will have another reunion in a few years - it would be quite something to see folks from so long ago. I hope everyone has done well. All the best.

Hi all!
Been a long long time since I have heard from most of you. Graduated from McGill in 88, and Ph.D. in 93 from U-Denver. Currently on the faculty at George Washington University in Washington, DC, where I teach graduate level courses in human development and do research on a number of topics. Yes, imagine that!
Happily married for 17 years, have a great seven year old Claire, and two cats. We live in the Northern Virginia suburbs outside of Washington. My most recent hobby is photography, love the connection between art and technology. I have also started going to concerts again (I miss Pigeon park???), and saw Neil Young last fall, and Coldplay this summer. Lots of fun! Let me know if you will ever be around DC. I feel terrible that our year didn't have a proper reunion. There was confusion in who was suposed to organize it, and in the end, it never panned out. I am still close to Mylene Lamarre, Natali Grimm, Miriam Loeb, Hilda Habashi, and have recently reconnected with Larry Peritz, Marc Bennattar and some other old friends, who went to Dorval, but who switched schools before Grad. I try to keep in touch with my friends the best I can. I'm usually pretty good at it. Right after ESD, I went to Professional Theatre School at John Abbott, graduated in 1996 and landed a role on my first audition ever for a tv series. I've been acting in film and television ever since, and even stepped back onto the stage last year for the Centaur production of "Anna in the Tropics". It had been 8 years, and I loved finding that freedom again. Those who knew me in Dorval and even earlier on in my life, will probably remember that acting was a LONG TIME dream of mine, since I was about 7. I am also writing, producing and plan to direct in the near future.
